The Epworth Emergency Services Department has 40 active members involved in fire suppression and emergency medial services. Ten members are certified paramedics, the highest level of pre-hospital care approved by the State of Iowa. The Police Department has one police officer and occasional part-time officers. The City has formed mutual aid partnerships with the City of Peosta and City of Farley and with Dubuque County to broaden your protection.

Yardwaste Options

The City has adopted an open burning ordinance allowing the burning of yardwaste generated on the premises from: April 1 to May 15   &  October 1 to November 15

Midwest Organic Solutions Compost Facility, located at 10166 Hartbecke Rd (west on Hwy 20), accepts residential yard debris, grass, leaves, brush, compostable materials only.

The City offer curbside service through the garbage hauler each Tuesday with a $2.00 yellow pre-paid tag.  Tags are sold at City Hall.
