State Code governs the regulations on ATV & UTV use

 

GOLF CART REGULATIONS

Operation of Golf Carts. 

• Golf carts may be operated on all streets within the City of Epworth.  Operators must follow the restrictions imposed by City and the Code of Iowa, and follow all state and local traffic laws.
• Golf carts may be operated on city streets by persons at least 16 years of age possessing a valid driver’s license, proof of financial responsibility, and City of Epworth registration. 
• Golf carts may operate on the streets only from sunrise to sunset. 
• Golf carts may not be operated or parked upon sidewalks, trails, or Parks except for park areas designated for parking.  Exceptions for use in City Parks may be granted by the Police Department.
• Golf carts may be parked in City parking lots or on any streets where vehicle parking is permitted. 

• Golf carts must be equipped with a slow moving vehicle sign, a bicycle safety flag, and equipped with adequate brakes and a single center rearview mirror or a side mirror.
